Birth Stories
My Water broke during the night of the 7th. Contractions didn’t really come regularly until the next night so I relaxed, stretched listened to music. I was having a lot of bloody show and Lisa was so kind to answer all my questions throughout the night. I Went to bed around midnight and woke up at 3 AM with no contractions so I got up and talked with Lisa so gave me some stretches to do and to try nipple stimulation and that got some contractions going, but by six they had left again. I decided to get some rest, eat breakfast and head to the hospital, I was feeling very discouraged at this point but Lisa was so uplifting and encouraging. 😊 They put in a foley bulb that evening I texted Lisa a few hours later that I would like her to come and just her being there helped calm and relax us, I felt so much better with her there! The foley bulb came out and they started me on Pitocin around 1 AM and as contractions intensified she would help me do different positions show my husband where to put pressure and massage. They slowly increased my Pitocin and my husband felt I should get an epidural because the nurse told him it would be a long time yet, but Lisa assured me that I can do this and this is what I wanted (she was right!). as contractions intensified, I came to the realization that this pain could not hurt me and simply surrendered and accepted the pain, and that this was bringing me closer to my baby, I put in earbuds and listen to worship music while Lisa and my husband helped me through each contraction. I felt I needed to move positions, Lisa was very supportive in what position I felt best in. I moved to a side laying position, and felt the urge to push, then I moved to my hands and knees gently rocking back-and-forth, bearing down with contractions and 20 minutes later she was here! My husband and I both said we could not have done it without her help!💕
